Hill College is proud to announce that Hill County Emergency Services District #2 (ESD #2) has awarded the college a generous $40,000 scholarship gift to support students pursuing EMT Basic certification through Hill College’s EMS Program.
This investment will provide much-needed financial assistance to students entering the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) field, helping remove financial barriers and supporting the development of highly trained first responders within the region.
“This donation for scholarships for our students will help to transform lives for our students,” said Vice President of Student Learning and Success Irene Accomando. “We are grateful for the partnership with Hillsboro ESD to support our students in the EMT Basic certification.”
The scholarship funds will help expand access to Hill College’s EMT Basic program, which prepares students with foundational emergency medical training, hands-on experience, and the skills required to respond effectively in critical situations. The program is part of Hill College’s broader mission to meet regional workforce needs and support community health and safety.
Hill County ESD #2’s contribution underscores the strong partnership between local emergency service agencies and Hill College. By investing in training opportunities, ESD #2 continues its commitment to ensuring Hill County residents have access to highly qualified EMS personnel.
“We are so grateful for ESD2 and their commitment to financially assisting students pursuing EMT Basic training,” said Executive Director of Institutional Advancement Ashlee Ferguson. “The impact of this scholarship for both our students and the Hill County community will be deeply beneficial.”
